Reminds me of the story about Apple using a Cray Super Computer to design the Mac and Seymour Cray saying "Funny, I am using an Apple to simulate the Cray-3.'
Marketing genius here is playing up an outdated distribution restriction that were already set to expire the beginning next year..... and to top it off... Apple had supply chain issues that actually meant they never started shipping that "weapon of war" computer until (you guessed it) the following year. It wasn't TECHNICALLY vaperware advertising since the product did eventually get created and shipped. Maybe Vapor-tizing?
