I don't think there is any fundamental difference between requiring a license for a typewriter compared to hair braiding. Both are needless overreaches, born of irrational fear (and dont forget the money).
With regard to AI, I don't see how Congress, or any govt agency, would have the knowledge and skills necessary to regulate this emerging field without stifling it.
