Ted Cruz tweeted about the Green New Deal, a bill that would - among other things - create federally funded green energy projects. He’s clinging to old technology in the face of new.
We found an interesting comparison from 1938 of an energy industry rep complaining about (mostly federal) hydro electric energy projects. The piece essentially makes the same argument as Cruz:
“Developing of hyrdo-electric power in a country with adequate coal reserves is ‘suicidal folly.'” "Such a development is a modern Frankenstein. Hydro is our worst employer."
